If the “practically perfect in every way” Mary Poppins ever married the “hard-workin’, chim-chimminey gentleman of gentlemans” Bert, you’d have the modern-day Debbie & Andy. Well, of course there’d be some differences. If Mary is looking after two children and singing magical songs…and if Bert is off drawing make-believe countryside homes with sidewalk chalk and busy sweeping rooftops…well then Debbie is teaching an entire classroom of kids and gracing the keys of a grand piano while Andy is actually building a home with his bare hands and busy “sweeping the series” with his amazing baseball skills (he’s quite the athlete). Speaking of baseball, have you heard the news? Carroll High School (where Andy played and now coaches) just won the 2011 Class 4A Indiana State Championship…for the 2nd year in a row! A respectful nod to the Chargers – and a much, much bigger congrats to Debbie & Andy!
Working with this couple has been a lot of fun. Recently, as we were finalizing their wedding films during their Edit Session, we stumbled across this funny clip of their flower girl, Cora. She was right in the mix with everybody, yet off in her own little world, making all sorts of hilarious faces. As we previewed the footage, Debbie threw out the idea of using it as the opening shot of the Trailer for their Feature Film and so we pulled it into the timeline to see how it would work. Well, the personality in Cora’s cute little expressions quickly gave life to the first few measures of the Trailer’s soundtrack, which happened to be a traditional Greek song that Debbie & Andy’s families actually danced to at their reception. We agreed it was a perfect way to introduce such a dynamic couple!
Enjoy!
